Lakers playing well heading into playoffs
Despite being shut out by the Sartell/Sauk Rapids girls’ hockey team Saturday inside Kent Freeman Arena, the Detroit Lakes Lakers put up a good defensive effort in a 3-0 loss in the regular season finale.
The Lakers limited the Storming Sabres (18-4-3) to 26 shots, while putting 21 on net themselves.
The Sabres didn’t score until late in the second period, with 2:40 left, on a Lexi Holman unassisted goal.
