The Lakers easily surpassed their goal of eclipsing the 147 mark, as Amy Crawford won all-around honors with a combined mark of 38.375.

Despite the record-breaking performance, the Lakers still finished as runners-up to No. 1 ranked Perham, which notched a hefty 152.175.

"The girls were excited breaking the school record," said DL head coach Jennifer Whipple. "It was a good day for the girls."

The Lakers excelled on the bars, taking first and second, as Crawford took top honors with a 9.75 and Natalie Hoffert was second with a 9.45.

Although Crawford won on beam with a 9.725, Perham was able to pull ahead of DL in the event by snagging the second through fifth places.

"The beam again hurt us," Whipple said.

Bre Halbur looks to be back on her top vaulting status, after she hit a 9.625 score for second.

On floor, Kristi Hoppert tied with Perham's Mikaela Eickschen with a 9.675, while Hoffert was fourth with a 9.625.

Those Lakers who earned All-Conference honors included Hoppert, Crawford, Hoffert and Jess Stelter, while Halbur and Kylie Foster received Honorable Mentions.

The Lakers, who are ranked No. 2 in the state behind the Yellowjackets, will now prepare for their Section 8-1A showdown with Perham, in Perham on Saturday, Feb. 20.

"The girls are just polishing up their routines and are confident (for the Section meet)," Whipple said.
