Each of Jackson Lyngaas and Ryan Cihak had two hits, while Sam Voz collected two RBIs on one hit.

The Lakers had four players go for two hits apiece in Cihak, Connor Johnson, Sam Voz and Boyd Bradbury.

“We’ve been close in many games and we can play with anyone, but you need to start winning to prove that,” said DL head coach Steve Fuhs.

The Lakers did have a Mid-State Conference sweep Friday, May 16, with wins over Crosby-Ironton 11-1 and 8-2.

In the latter game, DL’s bottom three hitters went a combined 7-10, as Cooper Heimark was 2-3, Trey Lyngaas was 2-3 and Sam Beck went 3-3.

“Our bottom of the order is coming up big,” Fuhs said. “They are hitting well.”

Cihak also went 2-3 with two RBis in the win. He also picked up the win on the mound by allowing seven hits and striking out 11.

Voz pitched a two-hitter in five innings to win 11-0. He struck out seven and walked one.

Beck went 2-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs in the No. 9 slot, while Jackson Lyngaas was 1-3 with two RBIs.
