Lakers top Little Falls 50-24
Despite a slow start that saw Little Falls take a 7-2 lead early on, the Detroit Lakes girls' basketball team managed to pick up their intensity and outscore their opponents by a 2-1 margin in a 50-24 victory Thursday night at home.
"Offensively when we started moving the ball and making the extra pass our offensive flow improved dramatically," said Laker head coach Mike Hoganson.
"The run at the end of the first half provide to be the difference in the game. Kyley Foster and Karli Kerzman really sparked us... it was a very good team victory!"
Two guard Kerzman led the Lakers offensively with 13 points, including nine off 3-pointers.
Point guard Foster finished with 7 points, while sophomore forward Shay Nielsen ended the night with eight, going 4-4 on free throws.
Also contributing to DL's offense were Brooke Olson with six points, Trisa Hutchinson and Haily Jorgenson with five apiece and Lauren Lies with four. Matty Tschider also chipped in two and Brooklyn Thompson added a free throw to round out the Lakers' scoring.
