Lakeshirts co-founder to speak at MSCTC Friday in DL
Come hear the story of a local business owner who grew an entrepreneurial idea into a business this Friday at Minnesota State Community & Technical College (MSCTC) in Detroit Lakes.
The Business & Entrepreneurial Services department at MSCTC is hosting its sixth Speaker Series presentation, this Friday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. in Room C101 (conference center).
In 1984, Mark Fritz and Mike Hutchinson started Lakeshirts in the basement of Mark's parents' home. From the basement in 1984 to a new building in 1994 to 90,000 feet of additional space in 1999, Mark Fritz will share the story of his successful entrepreneurial idea that is now a business.
Each Speaker Series presentation at MSCTC offers information and education that, as reflected by Tony Parker, "brings valuable information to the area, free." There is an opportunity to ask questions to those who have gone from entrepreneurial idea to successful business.
Often times the hurdles and failures are also discussed. Past participants have expressed appreciation for the knowledge gained and the ability to hear from those who have experienced the idea to fruition.
"They have provided information and opportunity to better educate myself on the process of business management," states Cindy Lindsay.
There is no cost to attend and no registration required, though if you plan to attend the luncheon after the presentation, please RSVP to Patty Heath Gordon, BES director, at 218-846-3804 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Speaker Series is co-sponsored by MSCTC-Detroit Lakes and the Small Business Development Center. Everyone is welcome. For more information, please contact Patty Heath Gordon.
