Laura C. Lund, 81, of Park Rapids died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.

She was born Dec. 20, 1925 to Christian and Theresia (Gehring) Aichele in Lake of the Woods County. She graduated from public school in Williams in 1943. She moved to Wenatchee, WA and worked in the or-chards. She joined the US Navy as an aviation machin-ists mate during World War II. She was stationed in New York, Iowa and Hawaii. Af-ter her honorable discharge in 1945, she returned to Minnesota.

She married Arley Lund July 20, 1947 in Baudette. They lived and farmed in Graceton. In 1960, they moved to New London and then in 1967 to Park Rapids. She worked as a seamstress, cook, housekeeper and shop clerk. In 1989, they began traveling with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Pro-gram (MMAP) working as volunteers at churches and Bible camps across the United States and Canada. In 1994, they became in-volved with Tapestries of Life, and helped build an orphanage.

She was a member of New Life Community Church in Park Rapids. She was a member of the Kandiyohi County Homemakers Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by four children, Arley D. (Donna) of Yucca Valley, CA, Gene (Joni) of Bemidji, Arla (Bill) Wright of Park Rapids and Joanna (Edwin) Kelstrup of Green River, WY; sister, Erna LaChappelle of Ada; three brothers, Alvin of Ri-pon, WI, Herb of Owen, WI and Lawrence of Hinckley, IL; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sis-ter, Ruth; three infant daughters; and a daughter-in-law, Charlotte.

Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at New Life Com-munity Church with Pastor Fred Brown officiating. Congregational hymns will be "Here I Am to Worship" and "Because He Lives." Margret Rairdon will be singing "His Eye is on the Sparrow."

Interment: 11 a.m. Satur-day, Aug. 25 at Graceton Cemetery in Graceton.

Military honors will be provided by the Park Rapids All Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
