Letter: More public input needed on sign issue
In the Planning Commission debate on billboards and 'motion' signs, I see quite a few comments from business owners, but not very many from the citizens of Detroit Lakes who do business with these establishments.
I don't live in Detroit Lakes but I do most of my shopping there, and I personally find the 'motion' signs with their bright lights to not only be distracting but also to be somewhat ugly. I think for the Planning Commission, in order to get a proper 'slant' on this subject, needs to do a bit more talking to the public and getting more opinions from them. -- Scott Peterson, Cormorant
