United Blood Services would like to thank everyone who came out to donate during the blood drive on Sat., Dec. 20, 2008. Although the snow was blowing and temperatures were dropping below zero, the commitment of the Detroit Lakes community members was inspiring. United Blood Services appreciates the donors coming out and embracing this important cause.
Over 70 percent of our blood supply comes from mobile blood drives. Communities like Detroit Lakes are a vital link in the life-giving chain of blood donation, so we are very grateful for their participation.
The next blood drive for Detroit Lakes is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009.
Volunteer blood donors must be 16 years old or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. To schedule an appointment call 701-293-9453 or go to www.unitedbloodservices.org. -- Jessica Krogstad, Donor Recruitment Representative, United Blood Services
