Letter: Thanks to NCT volunteers
The Holiday Season is a time to give thanks. Thank you to all the volunteers who work on the North Country Trail. Volunteers are the heart and soul of this hiking trail. They deserve recognition for maintaining this National Scenic Trail treasure, because without them there would be no trail. Trail adopters, like highway adopters, maintain short segments. Locally there are 163.3 contiguous miles maintained by trail adopters.
The North Country National Scenic Trail is the nation’s longest Hiking Trail. It is over 4600 miles long extending from Vermont to western North Dakota. Most volunteers are members of one of the local chapters of the North Country Trail Association. Watch the Outdoor News and Upcoming Events sections for guided hikes.
