Letter: Thanks for your ‘Giving Hearts’ Becker County
It is with tremendous humility and gratitude that we wish to thank supporters of Giving Hearts Day. The generosity of the greater Becker County community will have a tremendous impact on families throughout the area. Gifts from Giving Hearts Day will support families in crisis through Lakes Crisis and Resource Center, purchase defibrillator units for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Detroit Lakes and Perham and provide training for staff, support end of life care through Hospice of the Red River Valley, and help purchase an ambulance for Essentia Health St. Mary’s.
The total amount raised for our agencies in individual gifts was more than $65,809. Donors designated which agency they wanted to benefit. In addition to individual donor gifts, each agency also received matching funds. Gifts to the Boys & Girls Club were matched by Bremer Banks of Detroit Lakes and Perham. Hospice Gifts were matched by TEAM Industries. Essentia Health St. Mary’s gifts were matched by Dakota Medical Foundation and Otto Bremer Foundation. Lakes Crisis and Resource Center gifts were matched by an anonymous donor.
It is a privilege for each of us to be able to serve Detroit Lakes and the surrounding communities and we greatly appreciate the support demonstrated not only on Giving Hearts Day but throughout the year. — Boys & Girls Clubs of Detroit Lakes and Perham, Lakes Crisis and Resource Center, Hospice of the Red River Valley, Essentia Health St. Mary’s
