Liz Lynch named new LARL director
The Board of Trustees of Lake Agassiz Regional Library concluded a regional search by naming Liz Lynch as its new library director. Lynch was selected from a field of five candidates.
“Liz has an impressive track record in library administration and management,” said LARL Director Kathy Fredette, who is set to retire in early March. “Her leadership skills and ability to develop a collaborative working style made her the best choice to lead our rural library system into the future.”
Lynch has worked for LARL since 2001. Prior to that she received her master’s degree in library science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with coursework that focused on reference and research methodology and the evaluation and selection of electronic databases.
Lynch previously worked as a library assistant at Livingston Lord Library (MSUM), as a library assistant for Carlson Library, Clarion, Penn., and as a research librarian for Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore. She has served as LARL’s electronic resources librarian, including responsibility for staff training, Moorhead Public Services supervisor, LARL Youth Services co-coordinator, and currently as Moorhead Hub supervisor.
Lynch and her husband Michael have two sons, Finnegan, 8, and Sullivan, 4.
