Local mystery author to appear in DL, Lake Park, Frazee
L.D. Bergsgaard, Minnesota mystery author, will be appearing at the Detroit Lakes Library on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m.
If you can't make that, he will be appearing at the Lake Park LINK site at 10 a.m. and the Frazee LINK Site at 6 p.m. that same day.
Bergsgaard, who lives in Lake Park, has written intriguing crime novels centered around special agent for the state crime bureau, Franklin Delano "Doc" Martini.
Bergsgaard himself is a retired special agent for the US Treasury Department and for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
"Next Year in Jerusalem," by L. D. Bergsgaard.
With Alex Stone leading his quick response unit in the clandestine operations against high-tech, international terrorism and Doc Martini conducting his own investigations into domestic crime, this intense but panoramic novel moves rapidly across continents into the intrigues and shadows of the darkest currents swirling through modern life.
Drawing upon over thirty years in federal and state law enforcement as well as the history of ancient transgressions and reprisals, Larry Bergsgaard takes us into lives and dramas we suspect are there, but rarely glimpse until they have become the news stories of our day.
"While Others Sleep," bby L. D. Bergsgaard.
Crime Bureau Agents Martini and Crosby find their trip to Minnesota's Boundary Water Canoe Area cut short when they stumble upon a naked body being devoured by a pack of wolves.
Preserving what they can at the primitive crime scene, they leave with little more than a bag of bones in the bottom of the canoe.
The search to identify the victim and piece together his last hours takes the agents down a rugged trail of political intrigue to a drug cartel intent on cornering the marijuana market in the United States.
Despite the legal roadblocks and political pressures, Doc Martini leads a team of agents to prevail, sometimes outside the fog lines of the law, and bring the murderous cartel to justice.
