The Lodge in Detroit Lakes wins awards at chain’s convention
The Best Western Premier The Lodge on Lake Detroit in Detroit Lakes was recently recognized with three brand awards at the hotel chain’s annual convention in San Antonio, Texas.
The awards were presented in front of more than 2,000 industry peers.
The prestigious M.K. Guertin Award is bestowed upon those member properties that have represented the vision of Best Western’s founder and best demonstrated exceptional levels of service, quality, value and commitment to the brand.
The Champion Customer Care Award honors properties that demonstrate and best exemplify exceptional levels of service and care.
The Best Western Green Award is earned by properties that demonstrate a commitment to sustaining resources and reducing their carbon footprint. The hotels must also meet quality standards and other membership requirements to qualify for each award.
The Best Western Premier The Lodge on Lake Detroit is one of only 20 hotels out of more than 2,400 properties in the U.S. and Canada to receive all three of these awards.
“We are so proud of our Lodge team’s accomplishments,” said Chris Holland-Mehlhaff, who owns and operates The Lodge with her husband Scott Mehlhaff.
“Consistently maintaining and achieving this level of excellence is not easy,” added Holland-Mehlhaff. “Our company motto is, ‘Service isn’t a big thing, it’s a million little things’”.
Holland-Mehlhaff is a second generation Best Western Governor and third generation Holland family hotelier.
The Holland-Mehlhaff’s also own and operate the Best Western Plus Holland House in Detroit Lakes and Best Western Plus Superior Inn & Suites in Grand Marais.
