Lorena Castor, 88, died May 6, 2009, in her home.
Lorena Eileen Castor was born May 1, 1921, to John and Austa Goeller on the family homestead near Fairbank, Iowa. She received her degree in Elementary Education from Upper Iowa University. She is remembered for being a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was famous for her fried chicken and cherry pie. She loved to fish, bowl and was an avid Vikings, Twins and Gophers fan. Through her needlework and sewing keepsakes, her legacy will live on.
She is survived by her husband, Russell; children, Dale, Dany (Judy), Lynn Lucich, Karen (James) Larson, Susan (Ed) Boeve and Jennifer (Mark) Hamlet; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn (Robert) Bates; a sister-in-law, Norma Bartholomew and many other relatives and friends.
Lorena is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wendell Goeller; sons, Hadley, Rodney and Daryl and son-in-law, William Lucich.
The funeral service is Saturday, May 9, at 4 p.m. in the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, Stillwater.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
Interment is Sunday at 2 p.m. in Union Chapel Cemetery, Ira, Iowa.
