Lorraine Knutson

Lorraine Knutson, 91, of Bemidji, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at Neilson Place, Bemidji.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Neilson Place in Bemidji.

Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Bagstevold Cemetery, Erhard.

Lorraine was born on November 5, 1921 in Erhard. She was the daughter of Arthur and Ella Wissbrod and grew up on the family farm in Erhard. Lorraine graduated from Pelican Rapids High School, where she met Karmen Knutson. They were married on June 22, 1941 in Erhard.

Karm enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After leaving the Air Corps they lived in different towns in Minnesota and settled in Detroit Lakes in 1965. Lorraine's first love in life was her family. She also loved golf, whist, bridge and shopping.

Surviving Lorraine are her daughter, Patty (Bruce) Anderson, Bemidji; daughter-in-law, Joey Knutson, Burnsville; brother, Bud (Myrtle) Wissbrod, Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Tamera Knutson, Jon (Lisa) Knutson, Cheri Huber (Ryan Joy) and Kelli Peterson (Kelly Sande) and seven great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Karm; son, Michael; three sisters, Laverne, Alvina and Doris; and two grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service on June 22 at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes.
