Lorrine M. Hanson, 92, of Detroit Lakes, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Lorrine Margaret Hanson was born to Benhard and Clara (Knutson) Johnson on December 26, 1921 in Pelican Rapids. She grew up in Pelican Rapids and attended country school, finishing the eighth grade.
As a young lady she cleaned cabins in Dunvilla, and also worked as a live-in nanny. She moved to Washington State, where she worked at Boeing for a few years.
On September 28, 1945 she was united in marriage to Roy Hanson in Moorhead. They made their home in Finley, N.D., for a time before settling in the Detroit Lakes area, where they raised their family.
Lorrine had been a resident at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home since 2004.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Russell) Okeson of Detroit Lakes and Laurie (Steve) Knutson of Lake Park; one son, Bert (Lynda) Hanson of West Fargo; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one sister, Vernice Gandrud of Detroit Lakes.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Roy Hanson (1998); six brothers, James, Irvine, Aldin, Vernon, Milton and Warren Johnson; and two sisters, Alice Dorff and Helen Stigen.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20 at the Lund Lutheran Church in rural Detroit Lakes, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes.
