LP-A to hold first of three public meetings on building bond referendum on Monday
The Lake Park-Audubon School Board will hold three public information meetings this month about the district's proposed $19.7 million facilities improvement referendum.
The first meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday at the high school theater in Lake Park.
The second meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cormorant Community Center.
The third meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in the north gymnasium at Audubon Elementary School.
The Minnesota Department of Education in September gave a positive review of the $19.67 million plan for school improvements, allowing the district to put the proposal before voters Nov. 4.
School Board members voted unanimously last month to put the building bond referendum on the general election ballot.
The plan calls for spending about $2.6 million for renovations and new construction at the K-6 elementary building in Audubon, and another $16.3 million for a new 7-12 high school in Lake Park.
