LP man sentenced to jail for stealing goods
A Lake Park man was sentenced recently in Becker County District Court on a felony property theft charge.
Ryan Daniel Goroski, 31, of 2027 2nd St., Lake Park, is accused of stealing over $6,000 in merchandise from Walmart while he was an employee there.
According to the criminal complaint, a fellow employee reported to the store’s asset protection department that Goroski had allegedly been taking food from the store without paying for it.
After being questioned, Goroski later brought in two boxes of merchandise that he allegedly admitted to taking from the store over the three years he had worked there, and also allegedly admitted to taking several other items that he had pawned or sold online. Altogether, the stolen items were valued at over $6,157.
Goroski was given a stay of adjudication on the charge, on conditions including completion of 30 days in jail and up to 10 years of supervised probation, as well as payment of $1,000 in court fees. If he successfully completes probation, the felony charge will be dismissed.
