LP-A students attend rally
Seventeen students from the Lake Park-Audubon Family Career and Community Leaders of America chapter attended the Region 6 Fall Rally at the Wheaton American Legion Hall, on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Students listened to guest speaker Renae Groskruetz, author of “How’s Your DASH?, Do your best, Always forgive, Speak and live the truth, and Have a plan.” Groskruetz is a survivor of family crisis and encourages students to “live the DASH in life.”
“What is most important is not the beginning or the end, but how we live our life no matter how short or long our time is.”
In addition, students attended two round-table sessions featuring peer educators, region and state officer team members. A roll-call collection was made in honor of this year’s National Service Project, “Share the Strength,” which has a goal to end childhood hunger in the United States.
Minnesota State Officers Courtney Mensen, Breann Hogie and Samantha Jo Severance were honored guest presenters at the rally. The students were accompanied by the LPA FCCLA Adviser, Cheryl Hogie and Assistant Adviser Britny Diekmann.
