LP-A Volleyball - Raiders rebound with win
The pendulum swung back to victory for the Lake Park-Audubon volleyball team, as they downed visiting Mahnomen 3-1 Thursday.
The Raiders climbed back to .500 at 6-6, while the Indians fell to 11-3, as LP-A put together a strong game at the net.
"This win was another big step in the right direction," said LP-A head coach Mike Summers. "The girls played some of their best ball of the season. Now, we are just looking for that consistency and at this point of the season, we don't want to regress."
The Raiders won games one and two, 25-20 and 25-18, while the Indians took the third 25-17.
But LP-A responded with a dominating 25-12 win to close out the match.
Emily Sunram led the way for the home team with 13 kills, while Bailee Bartunek followed with 12 and Becca Schermer had nine.
Bartunek also had 25 digs, with Cheyanne Nelson digging out 20. Rilee Burnside recorded 27 assists.
"The girls were able to keep the unforced errors to a minimum, and they were delivering the ball well and ran the offense efficiently," Summers said.
The Raiders will host Ulen-Hitterdal (4-2) Tuesday, for a 7 p.m. start.
