LPA Volleyball - Raiders can't get past Fosston
A flat first game for the Lake Park-Audubon volleyball team led into a memorable second set, which ultimately didn't end well for the Raiders in Fosston.
The Greyhounds survived a 33-31 marathon second game, on their way to a 3-0 win over the visiting Raiders Tuesday.
The loss drops LP-A under .500 at 5-6.
"I thought the girls responded well in the second game after starting a bit flat in game one (which LP-A lost 25-14)," said Raider head coach Mike Summers.
"We were hoping that second game would transfer over to the third one, but it was just a night where, if it could go wrong, it did."
Fosston (5-6) finished off the Raiders in the third set with a 25-12 win.
"We struggled in our serve-receive and the girls understood they were not passing well," Summer said.
"It's a game they can put behind them."
Emily Sunram led the way in kills for LP-A with seven, while Bailee Bartunek had six. Cheyanne Nelson had 21 digs, while Bartunek dug up 19 and Rilee Burnside 11.
The Raiders will host a hot Mahnomen (11-2) team Thursday, for a 7 p.m. start.
