Lynyrd Skynyrd joins 2011 WE Fest lineup

The "all-star" lineup for this year's WE Fest Country Music and Camping Festival, "Heaven in 2011," has just been expanded to include southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The performers who produced iconic hits like "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Freebird" will join previously announced acts including Willie Nelson, Sugasrland, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, the Charlie Daniels Band, Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker and more for Detroit Lakes' biggest event of the year, which takes place Aug. 4-6 at the Soo Pass Ranch.

WE Fest organizers also announced last week that more than 4,000 stadium seats from the Mecca of baseball -- Chicago's Wrigley Field -- will be installed in the VIP section of the festival's concert bowl. The seats will replace the movable plastic chairs in that section, providing improved sightlines as well as increased comfort and more room to move around the rows.

"Our mission this year is to upgrade the VIP experience and the current movable plastic chairs," said WE Fest media director Bob Bliss. "The new seats from famed Wrigley Field will assure attendees their exact seat while providing everyone more room to dance and pass through the rows."

Tickets for the three-day music event start at $99, and can be purchased online at or by phone at 800-493.3378.
