M-State DL's BES to host Speaker Series
Minnesota State Community and Technical College's Business and Entrepreneurial Services at the Detroit Lakes campus will kick off Part II: Am I an Entrepreneur? of the Speaker Series on Friday, Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. with the screening of the documentary: "The Call of the Entrepreneur."
Free popcorn and pop will be served at this event.
The Call of the Entrepreneur is a documentary that explores how entrepreneurs shape our world.
The film will consist of three individuals' stories; Brad Morgan, who turned a failing dairy farm into a thriving business, Frank Hanna, a merchant banker who explains how financial engineering not only makes credit more widely available to entrepreneurs today, but also played a crucial role in the discovery of America, and Jimmy Lai, a gentleman who escaped from communist China and left his family behind in search for a better life in Hong Kong.
Lai said that when entrepreneurs take risks, they are "dashing into hope."
This no-cost event will take place in the Conference Center at M-State Detroit Lakes.
After the film, the BES will host an open house from 10 a.m. to noon to celebrate the newly developed incubator offices, research library, and entrepreneur services.
Current businesses now residing inside the incubator offices include: Johnson Drafting & Design, The Clayground,
Life Choices, Regional Flavors/STEP, Cathy Hjelle & Associates, Aim for it Fitness and Bonnie Juma, Life Coach.
The BES incubator space currently includes eight mixed-use office spaces and one industrial office space for lease.
Tours, refreshments and information about services and leasing will be available.
