M State to showcase student career options
Students interested in careers in transportation and trades will have a chance to explore their education options and participate in a variety of hands-on activities at the Program Showcase on the Detroit Lakes campus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College on Thursday, Dec. 8.
Students can visit with instructors at the Showcase and check out four M State - Detroit Lakes career clusters: Automotive Service Technology, Auto Body Collision Technology, Marine Engine Technology and PowerSports Technology.
The Showcase is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include information on admission requirements and career placement.
Lunch will also be provided.
Students will have the opportunity to tour the labs on the campus, watch demonstrations by current students and participate in dynamometer runs, shock rebuilds and clutch tuning.
The event is open to entire high school classes or individual students who are interested in the four featured M State - Detroit Lakes programs.
The Detroit Lakes campus is also planning showcases featuring careers in construction design on Feb. 9, business on Feb. 29 and information technology on March 30.
