Mabel Mosher, 92, of Detroit Lakes, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Mabel Mosher was born to Iver and Annie (Aho) Lusty on March 28, 1921 in rural Ogema. She grew up and attended country school near her home in rural Ogema.
On Nov. 20, 1939 she was united in marriage to Roy W. Mosher in Mankato. They lived in Bremerton, Washington during World War II, where they worked at an ammunition depot. They later moved back to the Ogema area, where they lived for many years. Mabel has been a resident at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home since 2004.
Mabel enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading and fishing. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving Mabel are two sons, Lester (Susan) Mosher of Waseca and Ralph (Robin) Mosher of Detroit Lakes; five daughters, Marion (Phil) Nelson of Ogema, Marlene (Terry) Bunnis of Ogema, Anne (Ray) Collmann of Ogema, Diane (Don) Heinrich of Detroit Lakes and Cecile (Eden) Baer of Rochert; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Sadie Taber of Mankato and Sigrid Lindsay of Ogema; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Roy (2012); one grandson, Ryan Mosher; two brothers, Reino and August Lusty; three sisters, Maime Jaster, Anna Allison and Vivian Lindsay; son-in-law, Rodney Poppenhagen; and her parents.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Strawberry Lake Mennonite Church, rural Ogema, with interment in the church cemetery.
