Man accused of assault
An Audubon man made his first appearance Tuesday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of second degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
Troy Michael Lade, 34, of 11795 Townhall Road, Audubon, is accused of getting into a physical altercation with his wife at their home during the early morning hours of Oct. 12.
According to the criminal complaint, Lade and his wife got into an argument at a friend’s home, after which she went home and went to bed. Lade came home, allegedly angry and upset because she hadn’t waited to give him a ride home.
He allegedly started yelling at her, and when she didn’t respond, he pulled her from the bed by her ankle; it was then that she allegedly noticed the gun in his hand, though she did say later that he had never pointed the weapon at her, just held it in his hand as he yelled at her and told her to get out of the house.
Lade is currently in custody at the Becker County Jail pending his next court appearance, at a Nov. 25 omnibus hearing. His bail was set at $5,000 with conditions, or $40,000 without conditions.
