Man accused of firing multiple shots with .22 in White Earth village
Vernon Lawrence Durant, 25, of 25917 Bear Clan Drive, White Earth has been charged in Becker County District Court with dangerous weapons, intentional discharge, a felony.
On April 19 at about 8:45 p.m. Becker County dispatchers received calls that a man was firing shots in the village of White Earth.
Officers responded and found the shooter, allegedly Durant, had gone home. They went there and arrested him, Outside the home in some bushes they allegedly found a blue bag containing a .22 gun, according to court records.
Investigation allegedly revealed that he had been at the congregant housing development in White Earth when he went into the street and fired multiple shots with the .22.
There were numerous children in the vicinity at the time.
He appeared Monday before District Judge Peter Irvine, who set cash bail at $1,000 and bond at $10,000, with a number of conditions.
His next appearance is Monday.
