Man accused of forging checks worth $9,000
Jerry Anthony Crawford, 37, of Congregate Housing No. 7, Waubun is accused of taking a woman's check blanks and writing nearly $9,000 worth of forged checks.
He has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony check forgery.
According to court records, on Jan 28 police received a complaint that Crawford had taken the check blanks and forged multiple checks between September 2009 and January of this year, totaling $8,905.
The checks belonged to a woman that had been both his employer and roommate.
Crawford appeared Wednesday before District Judge Joe Evans, who set bail or bond at $20,000. His next court appearance is set for Monday.
