Man arrested for drugs, shoplifting
A Lake Park man made his first court appearance for felony fifth degree drug possession.
Joshua Scott Haugen, 27, was arrested when police were called to Gliks in the Washington Square Mall in Detroit Lakes on reports of a shoplifter.
Officers reportedly recognized Haugen as somebody who had a history of shoplifting and asked him to empty his pockets.
Officers found store merchandise from both Gliks and Claires, as well as a clear plastic bag with meth inside, which was hidden inside a flashlight he had on him.
In addition to the felony drug charge, Haugen also faces a misdemeanor theft charge.
Bail was set at $5,000 with conditions or $15,000 without.
