Man charged with felony for allegedly selling fake mushrooms at 10KLF
Patrick Jude Mulderry, 36, of 136 Van Schoick Ave., Albany, N.Y. has been charged in Becker County District Court with sale of a simulated controlled substance, a felony.
According to court records:
At about 1:23 a.m. on July 23, deputies were called to the Blue Ox Campground during the 10,000 Lakes Festival by private festival security personnel who allegedly caught Mulderry selling drugs.
He allegedly had four bags of mushrooms and a large amount of cash ($2,140) on his person and in his motel room in Detroit Lakes, where deputies also found two bags with 34 individually sealed bags of oriental mushrooms.
The mushrooms were not hallucinogenic, but he was allegedly selling them as such. He allegedly told police he knew they were fake but was trying to recoup lost revenue.
He appeared July 24 before district Judge Joe Evans, who set bail or bond at $10,000 and set his next court appearance for Aug. 3.
