Man charged for firearms
Clayton Clifford Craft, 28, of 1505 Gary Ave., Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District Court with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a felony.
On Jan. 17 a Detroit Lakes police officer received an anonymous tip that Craft had allegedly borrowed a shotgun to go deer hunting. He is prohibited from possessing a firearm because of a conviction for third-degree burglary in 2000, according to court records. Investigation allegedly revealed that he had borrowed an 8mm bolt-action Mauser and gone hunting with two other people the first weekend of deer hunting.
On Thursday, District Judge Lisa Borgen issued a summons for him to appear in court March 31.
