Man charged with relationship with minor
A Ponsford man with a long criminal history is adding another charge to that lengthy file.
David Charles Adams, 27, is already sitting in jail for allegedly robbing the Osage Liquor Store at gunpoint in January of this year.
Now, he is also being charged with sexually abusing a minor and fathering her child.
Adams is charged with felony first-degree and third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to reports filed with the Becker County Courthouse, White Earth authorities were notified of a sexual relationship between Adams and a young girl, beginning when she was 12.
During the year and a half period, the girl became pregnant and gave birth to a baby in 2012 when she was 13 years old; DNA testing by the Minnesota Bureau of Apprehension showed Adams, who admitted to the relationship, is the father.
Bail was set at $750,000.
Adams was already in jail on the robbery charges and being a convicted felon in possession of a pistol or assault weapon.
He also has a criminal history that includes assault with a dangerous weapon, several domestic abuse charges and dishonored checks.
