Man chased by homeowner, appears on burglary charge
Jason Everett Jensen, 22, of 123 Bryant Ave. S., Wadena appeared in Becker County District Court on a felony first-degree burglary charge.
On April 18, he was caught burglarizing a home on Long Avenue in Detroit Lakes. He was chased by the homeowner and fled to Jackson Avenue apartments, where he was later found hiding in an apartment, according to court records.
At a hearing Aug. 7 before District Judge Lisa Borgen, he was found to have used methamphetamines while in jail, and will not be brought to drug court anymore. The team may reconsider him in October, according to court records.
Borgen ordered a presentence investigation and ordered him to continue a chemical dependency treatment program in jail. The sentencing hearing will be held before a different judge.
