A Ponsford man is charged with felony simple robbery after allegedly knocking down a woman and stealing her purse as she left Central Market Thursday evening.
Derek Dwayne Croud, 19, allegedly threw the woman to the ground about 9:40 p.m. as she left he store, then took her purse and ran towards the railroad tracks, according to court records.
The 52-year-old Detroit Lakes woman was not seriously hurt in the attack, though she reported soreness and some back pain.
Several witnesses saw the attack, including one who allegedly recognized Croud.
The woman's purse was allegedly found near the residence where Croud lives.
He was arrested, jailed and arraigned in Becker County District Court Friday.
