Man pleads not guilty
An area man facing federal charges of possession and distribution of child pornography is planning to change his plea.
John Elof Seley Sr., 50, who formerly lived in Lake Park, had earlier pleaded not guilty and was to have gone before a jury April 21.
A change of plea hearing is now set for April 22 before John R. Tunheim, who is chambered in Minneapolis.
Seley was indicted Sept. 24 by a federal grand jury on charges of felony possession of child pornography and felony distribution of child pornography.
The crimes allegedly occurred in 2010.
Both counts involve five computer photo files that he allegedly received and sent via the Internet and, judging by their titles, depict sex acts with young children.
His attorney is Craig Ritchie of Fargo.
