Man sentenced in double moose shooting near Kempton
A Larimore, N.D., man has been sentenced to 80 hours of community service and two years of unsupervised probation after pleading guilty to shooting two moose without a license.
Robert Lee Sather, 28, was also ordered Thursday to pay $2,000 in restitution to the state Game and Fish Department and $600 in fines and fees.
Sather killed and abandoned an adult cow and an antlered bull on the evening of Nov. 22 one mile north and a half mile east of Kempton, N.D., court documents state.
He told a game warden he shot at the moose at that time and place, according to the warden's report.

He was stripped of his hunting privileges in 2009 and through 2011. He also had to forfeit his rifle, which the Game and Fish confiscated.
