Man sentenced for meth inside hollowed-out lighter
Dale Richard Herk, 51, of Box 314, Vergas has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime, possession.
According to court records:
While he was being booked into the Becker County Jail on May 1, authorities found six small baggies of meth hidden in a hollowed-out cigarette lighter.
Herk appeared Wednesday before District Judge Peter Irvine, who sentenced him to a year and a day in prison, execution of sentence stayed five years. He was placed on supervised probation for five years.
He must serve 180 days in jail, with STS privileges granted, and pay a $1,000 fine plus court fees. He can do community service work in lieu of the fine.
