Man sentenced for violating offender order
A Frazee man was sentenced Thursday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of violating the predatory offender registration law.
Jacob Peter Bachman, 28, of 110 Lake St. N., Apt. 107, Frazee, was given a stayed sentence of 18 months in prison, on conditions including completion of 180 days in jail, five years supervised probation and payment of $385 in court fines and fees.
Bachman was convicted of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct in 2007. As a result of that conviction, he was required to register as a predatory offender through April 2017, and to notify authorities of any change of address.
According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 22, 2011, Bachman reportedly notified authorities that he had moved to an apartment in Detroit Lakes; on Dec. 21, law enforcement officers discovered that he had moved out of that apartment on Nov. 24, and did not notify them of the change of address.
