Man stabbed, robbed in Grand Forks; police searching for suspect

A man was stabbed and robbed Monday night in Grand Forks and police are searching for the suspect, the police department said.

Police interviewed the victim in the emergency room at Altru Hospital at 8 p.m. According to police the victim told them an acquaintance had mugged him at the 200 block of North Ninth Street. The suspect stabbed the victim and stole cash and some personal items.

Police describe the suspect as a black man in his early to mid 20s, 6-foot-1-inches to 6-foot-2-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He wore a brown jacket, dark sweatpants and a baseball cap.

The victim’s injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
