Marcella O. Gordon, 78, of Mahnomen, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Good Samaritan-Bethany Nursing Home in Brainerd.
Funeral services are set for at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 5 in the Assembly of God Church at Rice Lake, with Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation took place at the church from 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 until the time of services Thursday.
Marcella Opal Gordon was born to Joseph & Christaina (Antell) Moose on January 7, 1934 near Lengby, Minn. She was raised and educated at Lengby and then attended the Detroit Lakes AVTI Floral Design Program.
Marcella was united in marriage to Wilton Gordon in 1957 in Bagley. They lived in Bagley, Milwaukee, Wis., and Minneapolis. For the majority of their married life, they lived at Ponsford.
Marcella returned to Minneapolis in 1978, moved to Aitkin, Minn., in 2009 and entered the nursing home in Brainerd in March of this year.
Marcella enjoyed time with her family, her church, playing cards, board games and walking.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Juanita) Gordon of Callaway and Billy (Mary Coultier) Gordon of Minneapolis; four daughters, Ann (Brian Eagle) Gordon of Aitkin, Donna (Pat Aspenwal) Stone of Waubun, Patty (LaVerne) Arthur of Moorhead and Christina Gordon of Brainerd; 22 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Moose of White Earth.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Wilton; two sons, David and Richard; a daughter, Kathryn; three sisters, Jackie, Adeline and Julie; and four brothers, Rollie, Bud, Steve and Bill.
