Marion S. Krump, 84, of Detroit Lakes, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley at the Golden Manor in Detroit Lakes.
Marion was born the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Pladsen) Forberg on July 23, 1927 in Cooperstown, N.D. She was raised and educated in Sharon, N.D.
Marion was married to Richard Dronen in 1946 and they later divorced. Marion went to Josef's School of Hair Design in Moorhead. She worked at various beauty salons in the Fargo-Moorhead area until she started her beauty salon in Detroit Lakes in the early 1960s.
Marion was united in marriage to Norman Krump on April 24, 1965 in Willmar, Minn., and on June 24, 1975 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes. She continued to own and operate her beauty salon until her retirement.
Marion enjoyed dancing and traveling with Norman. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Marion treasured the time spent with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving Marion are two sons, Dwight (Elaine) Dronen of Ohatchee, Ala., and Richard (Nancy) Krump of Detroit Lakes; two daughters, Deborah (Michael) Wilson of Lewisburg, Ohio and Rita (Dennis) Haverkamp of Detroit Lakes; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one brother, Joseph (Eleanor) Forberg of Thief River Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marion in death were her parents and husband, Norman.
Memorial services are set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with visitation for one hour prior to services.
