McBride signed her first record deal in 1991 and released her debut album one year later. In 1997, McBride released her fourth album Evolution, which finally positioned her as a neo-traditional country star on the rise.

With all McBride's albums, she carefully selected songs that evoked emotion, heartfelt passion and inspiration, and in her latest album, Eleven, she once again chose powerful songs like "I'm Gonna Love You Through It." McBride confidently penned over half the album's tracks including the chart-topping hit "Teenage Daughters."
