Mary A. Dalman, 66, of Pelican Rapids, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes.

Mary was born the daughter of Alfred and Edna (Gilbertson) Johnson on November 4, 1946 in Lake Park. She was raised in the Lake Park, Westbury and Ogema area.

Mary was united in marriage to Larry Duel on December 14, 1963 at First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Frazee. Larry passed away on October 22, 1998. Mary began work at County Market, later Central Market, and continued there for the last 22 years.

Mary married Dale Dalman on July 18, 2000. They made their home in Pelican Rapids. Dale passed away on November 18, 2003. She retired from Central Market in December of 2012, due to her health.

Mary enjoyed crocheting, sewing, crafts and working in her yard. She had a special talent for making a good bonfire, especially with a little gas. Mary's family always came first and she treasured those times spent with her family.

Surviving Mary are her daughter, Shelley (Dave Haman) Duel of New York Mills; son, Monte Duel of Detroit Lakes; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her father, Alfred T. Johnson of Callaway; three brothers, Alfred W. "Butch" (Shirley) Johnson of Callaway, Richard (Nancy) Johnson of Mulvane, Kansas and Roger (Sue) Johnson of Richwood; five sisters, Arlette (Richard) Westlund of Lake Park, Carol Johnson of Montevideo, Darlene (Jim) DeGroat of Detroit Lakes, Audrey Johnson of Detroit Lakes and Tammy (Chuck) Dilks of Callaway; mother-in-law, Dorothy Duel of Detroit Lakes; two brothers-in-law, Kenny Duel of Detroit Lakes and Donny (Virginia) Duel of St. Cloud; three sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Stan) Pazdernik of Mahnomen, Gloria (Phil) Tasto and Linda (Neil) Lind, both of Detroit Lakes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mary in death were her mother, Edna Johnson; husbands, Larry Duel and Dale Dalman; sister, Barbara McDonough; niece, Denise DeGroat; and father-in-law, Henry Duel.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28 at Zion Lutheran Church on Franklin Lake, rural Pelican Rapids, with Pastor Dale Pepelnjak officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, with a 4 p.m. prayer service, at West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes.
