Former Frazee resident Mary Lou Buhr, 89, of Detroit Lakes, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Frazee, with visitation for one hour preceding the service at the church.

Mary Lou was born to Sefton and Louise (Stanton) Miller on June 26, 1921 in Tarentum, Pa. She attended school in Wilkinsburg, Pa., graduating with the class of 1939. She then went on to attend secretarial school and was then employed by the David C. Cook Publishing Company in Elgin, Ill.
Mary Lou was united in marriage to Harry Buhr on December 15, 1950. They made their home in Buffalo, N.D., until 1961, when the couple bought a farm in Frazee. They also purchased the Northern Inn on Big Toad Lake in 1973. They ran the business until 1989, when they sold it and returned to their farm in Frazee.
Mary Lou and her daughter, Amy, lived at the Lamplighter in Detroit Lakes from 2005 until the time of her passing.
Above all, Mary Lou was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in caring for her family.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry (Pam) Buhr, Randy (Julie) Buhr and Ray (Salve) Buhr; one daughter, Amy Buhr; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Grant, Jennifer, Sarah and Rachael; two great grandchildren, Jonathan Buhr and Kylie Nienow; and one sister, Carol (Keith) Bohlin.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harry; two sons, Robert and Tom; and one grandson, Eric.
