The Mary’s Place baseball team from Detroit Lakes will be entering the West Region Babe Ruth Tournament with a record of 13-2, which places them with the No. 2 seed, behind top-ranked Barnesville.
The two teams split during the year.
The Mary’s Place team has had many players contribute to the excellent year so far, said head coach Mike Even.
The outfielders consists of Tucker Bergquist, Ryan Sorying, Jacob Hanson, Alex Willette, Collin Ginnaty, Tristan Knopf and Lane Moe.
The infield has been solid with Tristan Wimmer at third base, Kai McLeod at shortstop, Jackson Haire and Ethan Schweigart at second base and Spencer Heimark and Eli Brooks at first base.
Hitting well as of late has been Lane Moe, Heimark and Ryan Sorying has a great OBP.
“Pitchers have thrown strikes and we have been making the plays,” Even said of the success.
