Family: Prank 'gone wrong' causes shooting death in small western Minnesota town

May is Museum Month in Perham

Perham Mayor Tim Meehl has officially proclaimed the month of May as “Museum Month” in Perham. 

The museums in Perham will conduct several history-related events during the month, including the following:

  • Saturday, May 4: Open house in the new Veterans and Community Social Room and grand opening of the Ashby Community and American Legion Vietnam Memorial Tribute exhibit from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the ITOW Veterans Museum. The exhibit will be open in the ITOW gallery until further notice.
  • Saturday, May 11: Enjoy an informan Genealogy Workshop at the History Museum of East Otter Tail County from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 15: Open house at the History Museum, 4 to 7 p.m.
  • Monday, May 27: Sixth annual Dads’ Memorial Day Breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon at the Prairie Winds Middle School; open house and free admission for all, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the ITOW Veterans Museum.

Beginning Memorial Day weekend, May 24-27, Perham museum hours will change:

  • History Museum hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
  • ITOW Museum and White Elephant Thrift Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
