McCloskey in at Waubun
OGEMA - Jason McCloskey was approved as Waubun's new football coach on Monday night following a 4-3 vote by the school board.
McCloskey has been an assistant football coach for the past three seasons and is currently the head girls basketball coach.
The board decided to go against the recommendation of Superintendent Joe Merseth in replacing former coach John Clark.
"Normally I do go along with committee recommendations," said board member Jim Helliksen.
Clark, who took the Bombers to the championship game in nine-man football, had to reapply for his position after resigning as a teacher and the school's activities director earlier this year.
"I feel the head coach should probably be also an employee of ours in the school building," Helliksen said.
