A Celebration of Mildred's Life will be held Saturday afternoon, September 25, 2010 at her home in Detroit Lakes.

Contributions in memory of Mildred may be made to St. Anthony Hospice or to a Charity of the Donor's Choice, and may be sent in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, PO Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801.

Mildred was born on October 8, 1917 to Charlie and Alma Lundberg. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1936. She married Einer Erickson on December 20, 1937, and they farmed together north of Detroit Lakes.

Mildred enjoyed life, and taught others to enjoy it even more. For 25 years she worked at FW Woolworth's in Detroit Lakes, where she was personnel supervisor. After retiring she enjoyed winters with her daughter in Arizona, Oregon and Montana.

She loved to play games and work puzzles, go dancing as well as fishing, and to bake bread and cheer on the Twins and Vikings. She was an avid reader, and loved learning anything about the world around her. She was also a deadly aim if the wrong critters crossed the yard or if there was still a tag to fill. Her life was filled with friends and family of all ages.

Mildred is survived by her three daughters; Norma Farley and Marilyn (Don) Partis, both of Pendleton, and Bette (Lynn) Balgeman of Manhattan, Mont.; 10 grandchildren, Jef, Justin and Ryan Farley, Curtis and Bruce McDougall, Molly (McDougall) Sells, Dan, Jon, Steve and Jane Balgeman; 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Fern Voxland; a sister-in-law, Marie Lundberg; one brother-in-law, Bert Pfeifer; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mildred in death were her husband, Einer Erickson; and siblings, Henning and Carl Lundberg, Alice Pfeifer, Bernice Voxland and Eileen Ekern.

Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements. Send condolences and sign the online guestbook at www.burnsmortuary.com.
