Minnesota hospitals recognized for safety
Several regional hospitals have received awards for patient safety, the Minnesota Hospital Association announced today.
The association recognized Lake Region Healthcare Corporation in Fergus Falls, St. Mary's Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes, Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria and Perham Memorial Hospital and Home.
These Patient Safety Excellence Award winners participated in at least one of the hospital association's four safety campaigns and achieved at least 90 percent of a campaign's requirements.
The association's campaigns work to prevent pressure ulcers, or bedsores, patient falls, wrong-site invasive procedures and retained foreign objects in labor and delivery.
Forty-six hospitals were recognized for safety state-wide.
In September, the Minnesota Hospital Association will announce its next set of quarterly awards.
