Minnesota-produced tomatoes given the green light
FARGO - Tomatoes grown and harvested in Minnesota are now considered safe to eat, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Minnesota was added Tuesday to a growing list of states that are not associated with the salmonella outbreak that is causing a nationwide scare.
Supermarkets and restaurants across the country have been yanking tomatoes from their shelves and menus as a precaution against salmonella poisoning.
